Working independently and with teams including a flock of drummers, writer and creative director Mike Foley uses art and strategy to build brands that drive business.

His award-winning agency work includes campaigns for P&G Old Spice, Head & Shoulders; Taco Bell; and Miller Brewing Company. At Long Haymes Carr, his concepts, writing and creative direction led the charge on work for Hanes, Hanes Her Way and Hanes with Michael Jordan. From thumbnail sketches and marathon brainstormings to finished production, he led teams and developed strategy-driven creative for Virgin Fusion and Journey’s shoes. Before leaving LHC/Mullen, he partnered with Music Maker Relief Foundation and RJR to create one of the most original, nearly perfect* marketing events of all time: The Winston Blues Revival. While overseeing all concepts and production to support a national, year-long Blues tour aimed at connecting the original Winston brand to the original roots of American music, he partnered with photographers, filmmakers, and musicians across the country to help support MMRF and the bluest blues artists.

As an independent creative and partnering with Shake Films, Foley has created and won awards with breakthrough work for Wake Forest University; Salem College, Riverrun International Film Festival and NCA&T. From a dozen pop-up art exhibits, and as a member of Artworks Gallery, he created the half-baked line of greeting cards, Random Cookie, distributed by Paper Source and Paperchase from London to San Francisco.

Most recently he’s worked with CEOs to rebrand and redesign the brand identities for Mood Treatment Center and BRRR BOX. His strategies and designs for both helped launch and sell those brands.

Delving into sustainable fashion design as a new medium for almost any brand, Foley teamed up with super model and seamstress Natalie Lucas to create a grungy “endless summer streetwear” collection. After a showstopping runway launch for Winston-Salem Fashion Week, the two are looking for new opportunities and events in 2023.

“It’s never just about art. It’s about capturing what’s authentic to a brand’s story and delivering that to an audience that craves what’s vivid and original.

Foley lives in Winston-Salem with his wife Jennifer and two kids, Jack and Ella.
